I would like to thank everyone for choosing me as your SPL. As SPL I will try my best to keep our troop the best in the community. We will be more organized, have more advancements, have more fun, and be a better troop. With the support of the parents and the scouts we can make all of the above happen. Without feeling like we are doing a whole lot of extra work.

Meeting 8/28/12

Hi Guys,

 

At Tuesday’s meeting we will be having Board of Review.  All scouts needing a board of review will have that opportunity on Tuesday.  BORs for ranks under Star will be conducted by 3 older scouts.  BORs for star and life will be conducted by 3 ASMs of the scout’s choice.  If at all possible, adult BORs should be set up before Tuesday.

 

All scouts 11-14 years old, there will be a brief meeting regarding robotics.

At Tuesday’s meeting, we will be having a planning meeting for all scouts attending summer camp.  If scouts are attending summer camp, they should be at this meeting.  For any scouts not attending summer camp, there will be a game of kickball following flags.  Leadership training will also be discussed.

Wiffle Ball Rules

Rules:

v 3 inning games (or time permitting)

v 5 run mercy rule/inning

v Team pitches to self

v Umpires have ultimate decision, but players should have good judgment on safe/out

v No pitch count. 4 pitches and no hit = out.

Ø A foul ball on last pitch does not count; keep pitching until no foul ball or hit.

v Last person in lineup for the inning may act as a Third Base coach

Training Backpack

I was able to go on the training backpack this weekend, February 25-26th. 

I got the opportunity to hike up late with some fellow venture scouts. My patrol's thanks for even showing up? 

They ate all the steak! 

Ignoring that it was generally a very good trip not too many problems and I'm sure everyone enjoyed themselves! 

After the trek we all went to Brandon Baum's Eagle Court. Just like to say congrats Brandon!

All in all this weekend was really fun, we even got a new scout!

Vasquez!

On Saturday the 14th of January our troop went to Vasquez rocks for our annual recruitment rock climbing trip!

We had a great turn out for both our scouts and second year WEBELOS. We look forward to all those WEBELOS who will be bridging over to Boy Scouts in the next few months!
